Before you click agree, let TrueTerms read it first.
TrueTerms turns company policies into a clear risk score, plain-English flags, and evidence you can verify.
TrueTerms
All Company Policies
You can cancel your subscription anytime online, keep ownership of your content, and TrueTerms says it does not sell your data.
All product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. TrueTerms is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies.
One extension for every agreement you are asked to accept.
TrueTerms is designed for the exact moment when a website, app, subscription, airline, marketplace, or checkout flow asks you to agree to terms you do not have time to read.
Scan before agreeing
Open any company page or legal policy and TrueTerms finds the real terms, privacy policy, refund rules, and related docs.
Understand the risks
See red, yellow, and green flags for money, cancellation, privacy, data sharing, legal rights, and account rules.
Verify the evidence
Pro users can jump to the original policy page and see the exact clauses TrueTerms used for each finding.
Check an app before or after you download it.
Pick your store — Apple App Store or Google Play — then search any app. TrueTerms gathers the public store disclosures, every permission, every data category, and the linked policies, then keeps that exposure score separate from the company’s policy score.
Install TrueTerms before your next signup.
Start with 3 free policy scans and 3 mobile app checks each month. Upgrade for higher limits, Show Evidence, daily Watchlist checks, and reminders.
Open TrueTerms. It finds the policies that matter.
Use the Chrome extension while browsing or inside a web app. Press Scan This Site and TrueTerms finds the company’s real legal policies before building one clear result.
Open it from the company
Start on a homepage, web app, checkout, or legal page. TrueTerms recognizes the company without pretending the normal page is a policy.
Press Scan This Site
TrueTerms finds the company’s terms, privacy, billing, refund, cancellation, data-sharing, and other relevant policy pages for you.
Review the full result
Get a 0–100 risk score, a short verdict, and red, yellow, and green findings explained in plain English.
Verify it with Pro
Open Show Evidence to visit the correct source policy, jump to the original clause, and see the language highlighted.
It scans the agreement, not just the page.
If you are on a company homepage, TrueTerms does not score the homepage. It finds the company’s actual policy pages and scans the documents that define what you are agreeing to.
Trust the answer because you can verify it.
Every Pro finding can point back to the exact clause, so users see the original language instead of relying only on a summary.
“Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date, and all fees are non-refundable.”
This is common subscription language. Cancel before renewal because you probably will not get that payment back.
Every result stays organized.
Return to past company scans, save the ones that matter, and keep policy and mobile-app results clearly separated.
Compare before you commit.
See the most trusted, highest-risk, and most-checked companies and mobile apps from shared verified scores.
Choose the wording you need help with.
Select findings from a scan and turn the legal language into a focused plain-English explanation.
Know when important wording changes.
Track up to 20 websites and mobile apps. TrueTerms checks their linked pages daily and emails you after a meaningful change is confirmed.
Check an app before or after you download it.
Inside the Chrome extension, pick your store — Apple App Store or Google Play — and search an app name. TrueTerms automatically collects the public store privacy disclosure, every permission, every data category, tracking details, and linked developer policies, and judges each access against what the app obviously needs to do its job.
- 01Pick your store
A toggle switches between the Apple App Store and Google Play anytime — each check covers one store.
- 02Search and confirm the app
Type the app name or paste a store link, then pick the right listing. That is all you do.
- 03TrueTerms gathers the rest
Store disclosures and linked policies are collected and scored automatically, with every flag quoting the source. Thin disclosures go to review — never a fake score.
- PROCheck more and keep watch
Pro raises the limit to 75 checks a month and can monitor linked app-store and policy pages for confirmed changes.
Everything you need before you click agree.
TrueTerms is built around one job: take scattered company policies and turn them into a clear score, plain-English findings, and proof you can check.
Scan the real policies, not the random page.
Start from a homepage, checkout page, app screen, or legal policy. TrueTerms finds the company’s terms, privacy policy, cancellation rules, refund language, and related legal pages so the score reflects the policies connected to that company or service.
Get a score and flags that are actually useful.
Red is reserved for real traps. Yellow explains common but important tradeoffs. Green shows what helps you, like easy cancellation, no forced arbitration, and user-friendly privacy choices.
Verify the exact clause with Show Evidence.
Pro opens the source policy, jumps to the clause behind a finding, highlights the language, and explains why it matters in plain English.
Check mobile apps separately from their websites.
Search an app by name, choose its iPhone or Android listing, and review its public data collection, tracking, permissions, and linked policies. The app result stays separate because app exposure and website terms are not the same thing.
Get meaningful change alerts.
Add up to 20 websites and mobile apps to Watchlist. TrueTerms checks the linked policy and store pages daily and emails you when a meaningful change is confirmed.

Terms of Service
✓Last updated: July 17, 2026 Effective immediately
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the TrueTerms Chrome extension and related services, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Description of Service
TrueTerms analyzes company policies and public mobile-app disclosures, then provides separate plain-English risk scores, findings, and evidence tools to help you make informed decisions.
3. User Accounts and Plans
Free accounts include 3 policy scans and 3 mobile app checks per month. Pro includes 100 policy scans and 75 mobile app checks per month, plus the extra features shown in the app. Free does not require a card.
4. Billing and Cancellation
Pro renews monthly until cancelled. You can cancel online from Settings or the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and access remains available through the paid month.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the service, reverse engineer protected parts of TrueTerms, disrupt the product, or use it to harm others.
6. Intellectual Property and Your Content
TrueTerms content, trademarks, logos, design, and branding belong to TrueTerms and may not be copied or used without permission. You keep ownership of anything you scan, save, or add — we only use it to provide TrueTerms to you.
7. Disclaimers
TrueTerms is an informational consumer-help tool, not a law firm or legal advice service. Results may be incomplete or incorrect.
8. Limitation of Liability
TrueTerms is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, TrueTerms is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose (or US $100 if you are on the free plan). Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited — always read the original policy before making an important decision.
9. Dispute Resolution
We do not require forced arbitration, class-action waivers, jury-trial waivers, or any private dispute step before you can use the normal consumer remedies available to you. If something goes wrong, we'd genuinely like the chance to make it right first — please email support@trueterms.app and we'll do our best to resolve it quickly.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will announce it in the extension or by email before it takes effect, so you can review it — or stop using TrueTerms — before it applies to you.
Privacy Policy
We run a scanner, not an ad network. We do not sell your personal data.
1. Account Data
We collect your email, encrypted password, plan status, scan count, saved scans, Watchlist entries, and basic technical information needed to run the extension.
2. Policy and App Data You Check
For company scans, TrueTerms may process relevant legal policy text. For mobile app checks, it may process public App Store or Google Play listings, privacy and data-safety disclosures, and linked public policies.
3. How We Use Data
We use data to run scans, enforce monthly limits, show history, provide Pro features, send requested alerts, detect errors, and improve reliability. Aggregated, anonymized results power public features like company and app rankings — individual scans are never publicly attributed to you.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
TrueTerms may use browser storage and essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember settings, and operate the extension.
5. Service Providers
We use trusted providers for hosting, database, AI processing, email, payments, and reliability. They process data for us, not for their own advertising.
6. Scan History and Watchlist
Saved scans and scan history help you review prior results. Pro users may monitor the linked policy and store pages for up to 20 Watchlist entries. Account deletion removes personal history and Watchlist entries tied to your account.
7. Shared Result Cache
We may reuse company-level and app-level analyses when their source material has not materially changed, so a policy or app someone already checked returns instantly for everyone. Shared results contain only the public analysis — never your account data, and never anything identifying who ran the scan.
8. Your Choices
You can sign out, clear local history, delete your account in Settings, and contact support@trueterms.app for privacy help.
Data Policy
How TrueTerms uses scan data, account data, and company-level analysis.
1. Account Data
We use your email, plan status, scan count, saved scans, Watchlist entries, and technical information to run the extension.
2. Scan and App Data
TrueTerms may process legal policy text and public mobile-app disclosures to create separate policy and app scores, flags, and summaries.
3. Shared Results
Company-level and app-level results may be reused to keep the service fast and affordable, but they do not include your personal account data.
4. No Data Selling
TrueTerms does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Cookie Policy
TrueTerms uses only what is needed to keep the extension working.
1. Essential Storage
TrueTerms may use browser storage and essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember settings, and operate the extension.
2. No Ad Tracking
We do not run an ad network and do not use cookies to sell behavioral profiles.
Refund Policy
Billing should be clear, simple, and easy to fix if something goes wrong.
1. Subscription Refunds
TrueTerms subscriptions are generally non-refundable once a billing period starts.
2. Billing Mistakes
If there is a duplicate charge, payment error, or billing mistake, contact support and we will correct it.
Extension License
The extension is licensed for personal use with your TrueTerms account.
1. License
You may use TrueTerms through your own account and browser. You may not resell, copy, reverse engineer, or misuse the service.
2. Updates
TrueTerms may update the extension to improve reliability, security, scoring, and product features.
Contact & Legal
A real person reads every message — usually within 1–2 business days.
1. Billing & privacy requests
For refunds, billing corrections, data deletion, or any privacy request, email support@trueterms.app and we will take care of it.
2. Not legal advice
TrueTerms is an informational consumer-help tool, not a law firm. Always read the original policy before making an important decision.
Questions before installing?
Quick answers for people who (rightly) read the fine print on fine-print tools.
The basics
Is TrueTerms legal advice?
No. TrueTerms is an informational tool that explains consumer risks in plain English. It does not replace a lawyer, and you should read the original policy before any important decision.
What does it scan?
Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, refund policies, cancellation rules, subscription terms, extension license terms, acceptable-use policies, community guidelines, and related legal documents — all of a company's policies in one scan.
Does it scan normal homepages?
No. If you press Scan from a normal page, TrueTerms finds the company's actual policy documents behind that site and scans those instead — it never pretends a homepage is the agreement.
Does it watch my browsing?
No. TrueTerms only reads a page when you press Scan or when it spots a policy page and offers to help. Your scans belong to your account and are never publicly attributed to you.
Scores & accuracy
How does the score work?
0–33 is LOW (fair, standard terms), 34–66 is MEDIUM (worth knowing), 67–100 is HIGH (serious traps). Common clauses every company has stay yellow — red is reserved for things that can really hurt you.
Will every site work?
Most readable policy pages work, including big apps like Gmail, Notion, and X. Some companies block scraping or hide policies behind scripts — those get queued for review instead of a fake score.
Mobile app checks
How do app checks work?
Search any app by name or store link inside TrueTerms. Each check covers one store at a time — a toggle switches between the Apple App Store and Google Play whenever you want — and returns the app's full permission list, every disclosed data category, and red, yellow, and green flags quoting the store's own disclosures.
Are app scores fair to every app?
Yes — every company is graded by the identical standard. Access an app obviously needs (GPS in a navigation app, the microphone during a voice chat) is never punished for existing. Red is reserved for what people don't realize they agreed to: data sold or sent to brokers, advertising profiles that follow you into other apps, and collection that continues beyond the feature you're using. Apps with disclosures too thin to score honestly go to review — never a fake score.
Plans & billing
Is there a free trial?
No trial countdown, no card required. TrueTerms has a genuinely free plan with 3 policy scans and 3 mobile app checks per month, forever.
Can I cancel Pro anytime?
Yes — online, in a couple of clicks. No phone calls, no notice windows, no retention dark patterns. We'd fail our own scan otherwise.
Why do I need an account?
Accounts enforce the monthly scan limits and keep your history, Watchlist, alerts, and reminders tied to you across devices.
Pro features
What is Show Evidence?
It opens the company's own policy page and highlights the exact sentences behind every flag, so you can verify the finding instead of trusting a summary.
What does Watchlist monitor?
Pro users can track up to 20 websites and mobile apps. TrueTerms checks the policy and store pages linked to each Watchlist entry daily and emails you when a meaningful change is confirmed. Some company updates published elsewhere may not be detected.
