Before you click agree, let TrueTerms read it first.
TrueTerms turns company policies into a clear risk score, plain-English flags, and evidence you can verify.
TrueTerms
All Company Policies
TrueTerms keeps its own policies short, clear, and consumer-friendly.
All product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. TrueTerms is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies.
One extension for every agreement you are asked to accept.
TrueTerms is designed for the exact moment when a website, app, subscription, airline, marketplace, or checkout flow asks you to agree to terms you do not have time to read.
Scan before agreeing
Open any company page or legal policy and TrueTerms finds the real terms, privacy policy, refund rules, and related docs.
Understand the risks
See red, yellow, and green flags for money, cancellation, privacy, data sharing, legal rights, and account rules.
Verify the evidence
Pro users can jump to the original policy page and see the exact clauses TrueTerms used for each finding.
Install TrueTerms before your next signup.

Scan once. See what the company actually asks from you.
TrueTerms turns scattered policy pages into a simple decision screen: what is risky, what is normal, what helps you, and where the original clause lives.
Open TrueTerms
Use it from a homepage, checkout flow, app page, or legal policy. Normal pages do not get treated like legal agreements.
It finds the policies
TrueTerms looks for the company’s terms, privacy, billing, refund, cancellation, and data-sharing pages.
You get the score
Red is reserved for serious issues. Yellow is for common but important terms. Green shows what helps you.
Pro shows the proof
Show Evidence jumps to the original policy language behind each finding, with the clause highlighted.
It scans the agreement, not just the page.
If you are on a company homepage, TrueTerms does not score the homepage. It finds the company’s actual policy pages and scans the documents that define what you are agreeing to.
Trust the answer because you can verify it.
Every Pro finding can point back to the exact clause, so users see the original language instead of relying only on a summary.
“Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date, and all fees are non-refundable.”
This is common subscription language. Cancel before renewal because you probably will not get that payment back.
Fine print becomes a decision screen.
TrueTerms reads the company policies behind a site and turns them into the things users actually need: a score, the flags, the plain-English meaning, and the proof.
Company policy scans
Start from a homepage, checkout page, or policy page. TrueTerms finds the real terms, privacy policy, refund rules, cancellation terms, and related legal pages instead of pretending the page you are on is the whole agreement.
Risk score that means something
Red is saved for serious issues. Common subscription language stays in yellow where it belongs.
Show Evidence
Open the company policy page, jump to the exact clause, and see the highlighted text behind every finding.
Red, yellow, and green flags
See what can hurt you, what is worth knowing, and what is actually in your favor.

Priority access to Pro tools
We'd fail our own scan if pricing had tricks.
No hidden fees, no hard cancellation, no surprise renewals. Read our own Terms — they're two minutes long.
Our policies, in plain sight.
Every policy we have, right here — short, plain, and fair. We'd fail our own scan otherwise.
Terms of Service
Two minutes to read. No traps.TrueTerms reads company legal and policy pages and turns them into a risk score, plain-English findings, and source evidence when available. TrueTerms is a consumer-help tool, not a law firm or legal advice service.
Accounts and plans
Free accounts include 3 policy scans per month. Pro is a monthly subscription with 100 policy scans per month and extra features shown in the app. We do not require a card for the Free plan and we do not use trial countdowns.
Billing and cancellation
Pro renews monthly until cancelled. You can cancel online from Settings or the billing portal at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals, and Pro access remains available through the paid month. We do not require phone-only cancellation, mail-in cancellation, or a long notice window.
Refunds
If we make a billing mistake or TrueTerms does not work as promised, email us within 14 days and we will review the issue fairly. We want billing problems fixed, not hidden behind fine print.
Disputes
We do not require forced arbitration, class-action waivers, jury-trial waivers, or private dispute steps before you can use normal consumer remedies available to you.
Your content
You keep ownership of anything you scan, save, or add. We use submitted policy text and scan records only to provide TrueTerms, maintain your history, operate shared company scan results, improve reliability, and run the service.
Limits
TrueTerms may be wrong or incomplete. Always read the original policy before making an important decision. We keep liability limits narrow and do not limit rights that cannot legally be limited.

Privacy Policy
We run a scanner, not an ad network. We collect your email, encrypted password, plan status, scan count, saved scans, watchlist entries, and basic technical information needed to run the extension. We do not sell your personal data.
Policy text you scan
When you scan a company, TrueTerms may process the relevant terms, privacy, refund, cancellation, checkout, or legal policy text so it can generate the result.
How we use data
We use data to run scans, enforce monthly limits, show history, provide Pro features, send requested alerts, detect errors, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Service providers
We use trusted providers for hosting, database, AI processing, email, payments, and reliability monitoring. They process data for us, not for their own advertising.
Scan history
Saved scans and scan history exist so you can review prior results. You can clear local history in the extension, and account deletion removes personal history and watchlist data tied to your account.
Company scan cache
If a company policy has already been analyzed and has not changed, we may reuse the existing company-level analysis to keep the service fast and affordable. Shared company results do not include your personal account data.
Security
We use reasonable security practices such as encrypted passwords and access controls. No online service can promise perfect security.
Your choices
You can sign out, clear local scan history, delete your account in Settings, and contact support@trueterms.app to request privacy help.
Questions before installing?
Quick answers for people who (rightly) read the fine print on fine-print tools.
The basics
Is TrueTerms legal advice?
No. TrueTerms is an informational tool that explains consumer risks in plain English. It does not replace a lawyer, and you should read the original policy before any important decision.
What does it scan?
Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, refund policies, cancellation rules, subscription terms, EULAs, acceptable-use policies, community guidelines, and related legal documents — all of a company's policies in one scan.
Does it scan normal homepages?
No. If you press Scan from a normal page, TrueTerms finds the company's actual policy documents behind that site and scans those instead — it never pretends a homepage is the agreement.
Does it watch my browsing?
No. TrueTerms only reads a page when you press Scan or when it spots a policy page and offers to help. Your scans belong to your account and are never publicly attributed to you.
Scores & accuracy
How does the score work?
0–33 is LOW (fair, standard terms), 34–66 is MEDIUM (worth knowing), 67–100 is HIGH (serious traps). Common clauses every company has stay yellow — red is reserved for things that can really hurt you.
Will every site work?
Most readable policy pages work, including big apps like Gmail, Notion, and X. Some companies block scraping or hide policies behind scripts — those get queued for review instead of a fake score.
Plans & billing
Is there a free trial?
No trial countdown, no card required. TrueTerms has a genuinely free plan with 3 scans per month, forever.
Can I cancel Pro anytime?
Yes — online, in a couple of clicks. No phone calls, no notice windows, no retention dark patterns. We'd fail our own scan otherwise.
Why do I need an account?
Accounts enforce the monthly scan limits and keep your history, watchlist, and reminders tied to you across devices.
Pro features
What is Show Evidence?
It opens the company's own policy page and highlights the exact sentences behind every flag, so you can verify the finding instead of trusting a summary.
How do Watchlist alerts work?
Follow a company and TrueTerms re-checks its policies, alerting you when the terms meaningfully change — price language, cancellation rules, data sharing, and more.
What are action plans?
After a risky scan, Pro suggests concrete next steps: arbitration opt-out windows, renewal reminders to set, and what to screenshot before you agree.
